The Samurai Japanese Colouring Book is a 48-page Japanese colouring book with 22 pages of samurai prints by Bakin (1767-1848). Taken from his book The Tale of the Eight Dog Heroes of Satomi, about eight samurai heroes each with the word for dog (in Japanese, inu) in his family name.
The heroes are as brave and loyal as faithful dogs and use a combination of sword fighting, magic, and strategy to defeat the enemies of the Satomi clan, and after many adventures are finally successful.
These wonderful illustrations are reproduced in small, colour versions of the originals as well as full-page line drawings.
