Anime subscription boxes send a surprise package of anime merchandise, manga, kawaii goods or Japanese snacks to your door every month. Several of the boxes that were popular a few years ago have since closed, so every box below was checked on its own website in October 2026 and is still taking subscribers.
Prices are in US dollars, as each company lists them. The list starts with the boxes built around anime and manga, then moves on to snack and beauty boxes for fans who want a wider taste of Japan.

When you sign up you choose up to three genres, from action and romance to slice of life, and each monthly box is put together to match. A box mixes Volume 1 manga, authentic figures, anime apparel, Japanese snacks and traditional items.
The Signature Box costs $54.99 a month on a monthly subscription you can cancel. Shipping is free in the US, and the club has shipped worldwide since 2023.
YumeTwins

YumeTwins is a kawaii box packed in Tokyo and shipped worldwide. Each month brings 5 to 7 Japan-exclusive items, from plushies and stationery to homeware, including character goods from Studio Ghibli, Sailor Moon and Pokémon and collaborations with Sanrio and Cardcaptor Sakura that it says you can only get through the box.
It costs $37.50 for a single month, falling to $32.50 a month on a 12-month plan, and every box comes with a guide of 16 pages or more on the latest kawaii trends in Japan.
Kawaii Box

Kawaii Box sends 8 to 10 Japan-exclusive cute items a month: plushies, stationery, pouches, toys and snacks, with characters from Sanrio, San-X and Studio Ghibli alongside its own Blippo designs. Each month has a different theme, which also makes it an easy gift.
Prices start at $29 a month on a 12-month plan, against $35 for a single month. If you want to know where the look comes from, our guide to the birth of kawaii culture in Japan explains it.
Honsama

Honsama is a manga box for readers who want to start new series. Every month it sends three brand-new Volume 1s in official English editions, chosen with its subscribers, for $41.99, or two for $31.99. You can swap a pick you do not fancy once a month, and skip, pause or cancel from your account.
The box is aimed at readers aged 13 and over, and shipping is included within the mainland US, so check the site for delivery to other countries. If you are new to the format, our beginner’s guide to manga explains the main genres.
Manga Spice Cafe

Manga Spice Cafe pairs reading with snacking. Each box has three brand-new English manga, all first volumes, five or six sweet and savoury Asian snacks, a special cafe drink such as Ramune soda, and an information sheet about the manga and their artists.
International orders take about 7 to 15 days to arrive, so check its subscription page for the current price and shipping to your country.
The Otaku Box (Adults Only)

The Otaku Box is for adult fans of ecchi anime. Subscribers vote on the characters and poses that go into upcoming boxes, and each kit holds four to six items such as figures and collectible cards.
It is not a box for younger fans or for anyone who prefers their merch safe for work, so skip it if you are buying a gift.
Sakuraco

If you want to discover the authentic taste of Japan, Sakuraco sends a monthly box of traditional Japanese snacks, teas and home goods from local makers, built around a different region or theme each month. The November 2026 box, for example, explores the autumn flavours and tea traditions of Sakai.
Every box includes a piece of homeware such as ceramics, chopsticks or a furoshiki cloth, plus a 24-page culture guide, and it ships worldwide from Japan. Prices are shown when you choose a plan.
TokyoTreat

TokyoTreat, from the same company as Sakuraco, YumeTwins and Nomakeno Life, focuses on the snacks Japan is famous for, from KitKat and Pocky to Hi-Chew and Calbee, with seasonal flavours and a 20-page snack guide in every box.
It ships worldwide and is the box to pick for the fun, colourful side of Japanese snacking. Our guide to Japanese candy covers many of the classics you are likely to find inside.
Bokksu

Bokksu is a premium snack box that sources from Japanese makers, including centuries-old family businesses. Each box holds more than 20 snacks and sweets around a monthly theme.

Ordering Anime Subscription Boxes from the UK
Most of these boxes are priced in US dollars and ship from Japan or the United States, so the final cost depends on the exchange rate and the shipping charge for your country. Parcels coming into the UK can also be charged VAT, and couriers often add a handling fee before they deliver, so check each box’s FAQ to see whether these are covered before you subscribe.
