Manga Shops in London’s West End
Forbidden Planet London Megastore
The biggest name on the list sits on Shaftesbury Avenue, under a sign that calls it the Cult Entertainment Megastore. It is a general pop culture shop, so the anime merchandise shares space with graphic novels, film memorabilia and Funko Pops, but its Google reviewers single out the manga section downstairs. Come here for range, with long-running series on the shelves alongside figures from the bigger anime franchises. It opens at 10am from Monday to Saturday and at noon on Sunday.
Address: 179 Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2H 8JR. Nearest Tube: Tottenham Court Road, with Covent Garden close by. Website: forbiddenplanet.com.
Gosh! Comics
Gosh! is the independent choice, a comic shop at the southern end of Berwick Street that gives manga its own section, with a separate kids’ manga shelf. It works with artists and publishers on limited edition runs that come with bookplates and prints, so it is the place to look for signed copies. It is open every day from 10.30am to 7pm.
Address: 1 Berwick Street, London W1F 0DR. Nearest Tube: Piccadilly Circus. Website: Gosh! manga range.
At the Oxford Street end of the same street, NQJPN’s Japanese arcade bar has rhythm game cabinets imported from Japan, for over 18s.
ARTBOX Covent Garden
ARTBOX is a shop for Japanese character goods: Hello Kitty and the other Sanrio characters, Rilakkuma, stationery and plush. It is a gentler stop than the figure shops if you are shopping for children.
Address: 44 to 46 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9HZ. Nearest Tube: Covent Garden. Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 11am to 7pm, Sunday 11am to 6pm.

Anime Shops in Camden’s Stables Market
Camden is where London’s anime shops cluster, almost all of them inside the Stables Market off Chalk Farm Road. Allow a couple of hours: the market’s alleys are easy to get lost in, and the shops below are spread across the Provender Building, Paddock Lane and the railway arches.

Bandai Namco Cross Store Camden
Bandai Namco’s own shop gathers its official brands under one roof: GASHAPON capsule toys, Ichibankuji prize draws, Banpresto and MegaHouse figures, TAMASHII NATIONS collectibles, Sun-Star stationery and a ONE PIECE CARD GAME official shop, plus arcade machines. The Tamagotchi Official Shop is in here too. If you only have time for one Camden stop, make it this one.
Address: Provender Building, Units 16 to 18 and 100 to 101, Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8AH. Opening hours: daily 10am to 7pm. Website: Bandai Namco Cross Store UK.
The Gundam Base London
The UK’s first permanent Gundam shop opened in the same building on 3 July 2026. Bandai’s senior brand manager told Japan Nakama that High Grade is the most popular grade with UK builders, and that staff steer first-timers towards Entry Grade kits, which need no glue or paint. Look for the statue of the RX-78-2 in a colour scheme made only for this shop, and the London-themed dioramas built by UK fans. Our interview with Bandai about The Gundam Base London has the rest.
Address: Provender Building, Units 19 to 20, Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8AH. Opening hours: daily 10am to 7pm.
Anime House London
A small figure and plush shop on Paddock Lane, deep in the Stables Market alleys, with pins, bags and cosplay pieces alongside the figures.

Address: 10A Paddock Lane, Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1 8AH. Opening hours: daily 10am to 7pm.
Camden Anime
Camden Anime sits in a railway arch at Hawley Wharf, on the canal side of the market. It specialises in figures, including Nendoroids and scale figures, with posters, accessories and clothing.

Studio Ghibli and Tamagotchi Pop-Up Shops, November 2026
Two official Japanese pop-ups open within a day of each other this November, a short walk apart.
Tamagotchi Pop-Up, 60 Broadwick Street, Soho. Bandai’s first standalone Tamagotchi shop in the UK runs from Friday 6 November to 31 December 2026 for the toy’s 30th anniversary. It sells shells you cannot buy anywhere else, including a Destination UK design. Opening hours, devices and exclusives are in our Tamagotchi pop-up guide.
Maison Ghibli, 36 Eastcastle Street, Fitzrovia. The official Studio Ghibli shop for Europe returns from Saturday 7 November 2026 to 10 January 2027, with more than 1,000 products, from Totoro and No-Face plush to tableware. Last year’s shop in Knightsbridge had queues outside. Hours and the full range are in our Maison Ghibli London guide.

Nintendo ran a pop-up at Westfield London in Shepherd’s Bush in the autumn of 2025. Crunchyroll sells its merchandise online, and brought its stand to MCM Comic Con London at ExCeL in October 2025.
For Pokémon cards in a shop, Nendozone in Chalk Farm stocks them, and the Bandai Namco Cross Store runs a ONE PIECE CARD GAME official shop with events you can book.
Where to Buy Manga in Japanese in London
The shops above sell English translations. For manga and magazines in Japanese, JP Books, which describes itself as the UK’s largest retailer and wholesaler of Japanese books, sells online from its base in Bermondsey: shop.jpbooks.co.uk. If you are new to reading manga at all, start with our guide to how to read manga and which series to pick up first. Japan Centre’s flagship store on Panton Street, near Piccadilly Circus, also carries manga alongside its groceries, as our guide to Japanese supermarkets in London explains.
