Dulwich Picture Gallery will present Hokusai: Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji from the Iuchi Collection from 20 October 2026 to 17 January 2027, bringing the complete series of Katsushika Hokusai’s legendary Mount Fuji prints to London.
The exhibition offers visitors a rare chance to see one of the most celebrated image cycles in art history in full, including a beautifully preserved impression of Under the Wave off Kanagawa and a rare variant of Clear Day with a Southern Breeze (Blue Fuji), which has never before been seen in the UK.

About the Exhibition
Created between 1830 and 1833, Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji is Hokusai’s most famous landscape series and one of the defining achievements of Japanese ukiyo-e printmaking.
Across the series, Hokusai depicts Mount Fuji from shifting viewpoints, seasons, and scenes of everyday life, turning the mountain into a powerful presence within both nature and human activity. The works also highlight Hokusai’s innovative use of composition, perspective, and colour, including the pioneering Prussian blue pigment that helped make the series so distinctive.
The complete set shown at Dulwich includes 46 prints in total, reflecting the original 36 views plus ten additional prints added later due to the series’ popularity.
Highlights to Look Out For
Among the exhibition’s standout works are Under the Wave off Kanagawa, better known as The Great Wave, and a rare impression of Clear Day with a Southern Breeze, also called Blue Fuji. These prints are some of the most recognisable images in Japanese art and remain central to Hokusai’s global reputation.
For UK visitors, the presentation is especially notable because the complete set from the Iuchi Collection is being shown in the UK for the first time.
