Inspired by Shibuya Kaikan Monaco (SKM).
It was one of the oldest (70’s) and greatest arcades in Tokyo. This 6-floor independent arcade located in a non-friendly gamers area (Shibuya) was also one of the cheapest arcades in Tokyo with every game at ¥50.
With more than 200 machines, the retrogaming selection was on top: fighting games, shooters, rhythm games, and a couple of side scrollers beat them up like Capcom’s The King of Dragon. Featured as an hommage on the second season of the great “high score girl” anime, it sadly closed in August 2013. Enjoy the final night at this incredible place. Drawing by @une.ortega
