Tokyo Time – once a powerful symbol of where East meets West – became a headwear sensation that left a lasting mark on the fashion scene. Drawing inspiration from Japanese streetwear and Western trucker heritage, the Tokyo Time brand embodied the perfect fusion of J-culture and contemporary headwear fashion.

Although the Tokyo Time collection has now been discontinued, its influence lives on. The brand’s iconic caps, hats, hoodies, tees, socks, and even face masks made waves across the streetwear world, earning them partnerships with major names like Euroleague Basketball League, Capcom, Le Mans 24, Prema Racing Team, and Misfits Gaming Group (MGG).

Founded in 2018, Tokyo Time quickly rose to prominence as a bold and energetic label within the headwear industry. As a UK-based brand with global ambitions, it championed a fresh approach to streetwear, blending Japanese aesthetics with Western design.

While the collection is no longer available, the legacy of Tokyo Time lives on as a reminder of how powerful cultural fusion can be in fashion. At Japan Nakama, we’re proud to have shared in their story and showcased their incredible Japanese-inspired designs.

Inspired by Tokyo’s boroughs, it’s easy to see why Tokyo Time took the market by storm.

Firstly, when it comes to authenticity, the craft is everything. Each piece is quality made with the utmost care of comfort. Design on every product is carried out by the UK Tokyo Time Team and produced worldwide. With bold logos formed with simplistic styles, the snapback hats, flat brim hats, bucket hats, and classic baseball caps tick each box of Japanese streetwear and urban styles.

Tokyo Time: A Classic Look with Japanese Streetwear Designs

Style is embraced with individualism and change, combining a classic dress-down look with outside-of-the-box designs.

Men, ladies, and kids can all get a taste of Japanese streetwear with the Tokyo Times authentic collection. Designs come with classic themes like Capcom’s Street Fighter 2 and Le Mans 24, scheduled for August.

Here’s what separates Tokyo Time from other streetwear brands with its amazing headwear collection:

Tokyo Time: A Global Partner

Since its 2018 formation, the quality of production and uniqueness in design has been a driving force to Tokyo Times’ success with over 20,000 Instagram followers to date. Serving as a lifestyle/urban label, the brand has also established itself amongst the sporting culture in the Uk and across Europe.

Today, the brand serves as a sponsorship partner to several leading associations, including the Euroleague Basketball, British Basketball League (BBL), and Bristol Sport.

Euroleague Basketball President and CEO Jordi Bertomeu said, “We are excited to welcome Tokyo Time, a dynamic new headwear brand whose appeal to young, fashion-conscious consumers matches the tastes of Euroleague Basketball’s fans and players.”

Combining a youthful Japanese streetwear fashion genre with a sporting culture makes Tokyo Time the dynamic label we see today which then attracts consumers from multiple sections of the market.

Speaking about the mix of style and sport, Bob Hope, commercial director of the British Basketball League, said, “Basketball is more than a sport – it is also a cultural, fashion and music lifestyle. So, this partnership with Tokyo Time is going to add some real style to the League.”

Tokyo Time also signed a multi-year deal with Esports and entertainment group Misfits Gaming Group, producing officially licensed headwear with an immediate release of original merchandise available on the Misfits Gaming Group and Tokyo Time Website.
