Event Details:

YOKIMONO (よきもの, meaning “good things” in Japanese) Market is a Japanese cultural event and pop-up market that began in Dalston, Hackney in 2029. This will be our very first event in Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park!

Held in the heart of Olympic Park, the YOKIMONO Japanese Market is a perfect day out for families and friends to enjoy Japanese food and culture together!

Why You Should Attend:

1. Shop for Authentic Japanese Treasures

Experience a vibrant market filled with “Yokimono” (good things). Stalls will feature an array of exquisite Japanese food and sweets, artisan goods made in Japan, and handcrafted items by Japanese artists and makers based in London.

2. Experience the Richness of Japanese Culture

Enjoy live performances that highlight the elegance and depth of Japanese traditions:

  • Beautiful music from the Shamisen, a traditional three-stringed instrument.
  • Folk songs and DJs as a way to appreciate the existence of tradition and modern Japanese music.

3. Participate in Interactive Workshops

Get hands-on with fun and creative workshops that teach traditional Japanese crafts:

  • Furoshiki Wrapping: Learn traditional Japanese cloth wrapping techniques.
  • Kokedama Bonsai: Create your own moss ball bonsai.
  • Wagashi Making: Learn to make beautiful and vegan-friendly Japanese sweets shaped like flowers or animals.

4. Short Film Screenings
